amplitude meter
effects/toolsa module for analyzing the dynamic content of a signal. simply send the signal you want to analyze to the module, and don’t connect the module output to anything (unless you want strange glitchy buffer sounds)
simultaneously displays peak in the left channel and rms in the right channel. set the module peak meter to logarithmic to see the reading

controllers
group 1: main controls
- decay: the decay of the meters. turning this all the way up gives a readout of the maximum peak/rms
- reset: at value 32768, this resets the meters
group 2: rms controls
- rms scale: the time scale of the rms meter. at 100% this is 150 hz, or about 6.667 ms. you’ll want to scale this depending on the transients of the material to analyse
group 3: crest factor analysis controls
- inverse crest factor enable: enables crest factor analysis; this replaces the peak/rms readout and is confined to the left channel. normally the minimum possible crest factor is 1, but i inverted it so that it makes sense. the closer this is to 1, the closer together the peak and rms and the louder the material is
- inverse crest factor analysis threshold: the threshold (level) of the meter in the right channel. useful for checking if you’re reaching a target crest factor
